But you have to admit it is effective; that is to say he has done some things and they have had an effect. No doubt he would pick you up on this point if you cross-examined him.

Is that a jerry can in the fellow's hand? Prices have reduced a bit so petrol is cheaper and he can now afford to add it to the flames.
