..... available from all good highland sporting estates from Aug 13 2007. idle transmission will be unreliable until later this month. Happy holidays, troops.
Electro, I imagine you to have been sitting in the cab, feet on the windscreen, Paul Newman-style rollup in the corner of the mouth, with a shotgun sticking out of the window and hosing the birds down with lead to the left and right.
Great stuff! Roadkill always goes down a treat. Have fun shooting birds and remember, a bird in the hand should not be the same as having your hand in a bush.
mermaid, I have an old version of that saying which I would happily tell brutes like the Hitch and the Tuscan, but I blush at the thought of saying it to as delicate and innocent a flower as you.
Idle , that "delicate flower" threatened to crap on my grave (she used worse language) Rough shooting is indeed more fun than driven game and better for the heart and lungs.
thanks EK! hitch started that. I consider all women to be like learning the topography of a ski slope - it all looks beautiful and soft, but those drifts of snow may contain hard rocks.
"If you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed, if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not so costly, you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance for survival. There may be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no chance of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves".
Too True
"That such an unnecessary and irrational project as building a European superstate was ever embarked upon will seem in future years to be perhaps the greatest folly of the modern era.”
"We are a nation with a government, not the other way round".

(Interim) Last Word on the Subject
Stated briefly, I will simply try to clarify what the debate over climate change is really about. It most certainly is not about whether climate is changing: it always is. It is not about whether CO2 is increasing: it clearly is. It is not about whether the increase in CO2, by itself, will lead to some warming: it should. The debate is simply over the matter of how much warming the increase in CO2 can lead to, and the connection of such warming to the innumerable claimed catastrophes. The evidence is that the increase in CO2 will lead to very little warming, and that the connection of this minimal warming (or even significant warming) to the purported catastrophes is also minimal. The arguments on which the catastrophic claims are made are extremely weak – and commonly acknowledged as such. They are sometimes overtly dishonest.

Lucky chap. The Field arrived Saturday and I'm enjoying second best here, being some virtual shooting.
I've killed a few of those in my time - 8o tonnes of HST doing 90 swats 'em down like flies.

You threatened to look up her chuff first, Hitch - it seemed like a fair retort to me.
