Raewald and I have concluded that the victory was secure because Jonah was on holiday and didn't bother to wish the team good luck. It was gripping, no? I hope you didn't have a ticket for tomorrow... I still have a huge crush on Freddie "Bucket Hands" Flintoff...
Oh yes you were in doubt.
Terrific day, lil. I did not have a ticket for Monday (but I woz there for the last day in 2005).
Freddie does not seem fanciable to me, but then I am not a poof. I doubt his conversation would be much more than grunts and references to bling, tattoos, and bookmakers.
I am staggered that the team picked itself up from Headingley, e-k. What an unpredictable delight cricket is. Truly the greatest game invented.
Evening Idle.....Farqs here.
Glory, glory alleluia!!!
Key paeriod of the series? The two hours we watched at Chateau Idle...and day one that we watched at HQ.
I trust that you, like me, have cracked open some fizz this evening!
Lil
Never trust a man with big hands
He'll make you cry
Old Holborn, that's a new one. I was told "Never trust a man with curly hair!" and "Never trust a man in brown suede shoes".
Farqs, you are right. The great escape at Cardiff still seems impossible, even in retrospect.
Lil, I was told never to trust a man who wore brown shoes with a kilt, or people with double-barrelled surnames ending in Smith or Jones.
Or 'men of the road'.
My crushes usually only involve wanting to be "in close proximity to" rather than "between the sheets with", and besides, Mrs Flintoff is a total BABE. I have a crush on her too.
Glory.
But why did the security guard close the door on the triumphant lads?
What is the ritual that takes place when a team wins the ashes, and how shocking must it be that it needs hiding from the public's gaze?
Hello Idle,
Marvellous result, DT was in raptures of delight, in fact it could have been 'in ruptures of delight', judging by the way he was jumping up and down!
(He's just recovering from a hernia op).
Have you seen the cartoon on Guido?
Brilliant!
We too, cracked open a bottle of fizz to celebrate.
Also, we raised our glasses to Lils, Calfy, Elby et al, to celebrate Calfy's exoneration, another marvellous result!
Di.x
Fantastic result..but for us Sky refusniks VERY frustrating. Radio 5 Live does its best, but it's not the same. We definitely need it back on terrestrial TV where it belongs!
That's Mr B-liar for you Ms Fox...promised us the cricket would stay on terrestrial tv...
Yes Trubes, it has been the best week of 2009 down Somerset way...
Radio 5 Live, foxy? Surely you mean TMS on 198 Long Wave.
sorry, yes, Idle...I do indeed mean that 198 thingy.
